  1. Allegretto For Two Fingers

Here is a new piece that I played using only my two index fingers. It’s interesting, and the idea has a lot of potential.

  2. November Frost

The First of November brings frost and bare trees, the rustle of leaves waiting to be raked, the calm before the storm of the holiday season.

  3. October Air

This new piano piece is an attempt to capture the feeling of falling that’s present in October. It’s an idea really, not particularly well executed in this recording, but the idea is to use the piano to express what the season might sound like if it could play the piano. Give it a listen!

  4. Musings of a Heart Reflected

I can be intensely introspective at times. I can be quite reflective as well. Sometimes I try to express myself in those times. This is something like what it feels like. Read the full article to listen…

  5. Overcast

I’ve uploaded a new piano piece. It’s in a minor key, intended to sound like a week of overcast weather. Maybe you’ll like it, but you’ll certainly get the sense of overcast. Give it a listen!

  6. New Video

I’ve added a new video to the gallery. It’s a minute of me playing during the prelude at Shalandra Watson and Joe Alexander’s wedding. Check it out here.

  7. Destiny and Fulfillment

This is the complete processional I wrote for Shalandra Watson’s wedding. The first part is the processional for the bridal party, the placement of the runner, and the procession of the flower girls; it’s the “Destiny” part. The second part, “Fulfillment” is the bridal processional. View the full article to listen!

  8. Reflections

Reflections is a new improvisation, recorded on the eve of a dear friend’s wedding. It intones my thoughts and feelings as I reflect upon their journey.

  9. Fulfillment

This is the bridal processional I wrote for Shalandra Watson. It’s the first time I’ve used multiple instruments in a recording, and I’m extremely pleased with how it turned out. To hear it, click the title.

  10. Waltz of the Summer Rain

I love the sound of the rain. Whether it’s falling hard or softly, day, evening, or night, its sound is one of the most soothing sounds in my existence. This piece is one of my attempts to capture the sensations rain creates: how it sounds, how it feels, how it looks, how I love it.

  11. Rain Shower’s Breeze

I’ve uploaded a new piano piece. Think of the breeze that comes after the rain, shaking the rain from the trees and blowing the clouds away.

  12. Solfeggietto

I was exposed to this piece as a child, and it’s always been one of my favorites. I had, however, never learned to play it. So a while back I decided to add it to my repertoire, and this is the (current) result. Of course, with classical music, no recording can ever be exactly perfect, and this is no exception. I have a long way to go with this piece, but you’ll get the idea when you listen.

  13. Irregular Heartbeat

I’ve uploaded a new piano piece, recorded the other night after the piano had been tuned. Give it a listen!

  14. Anticipating Spring is Certified Silicon!

I’m pleased to announce that “Anticipating Spring” has officially gone Silicon! It met this significant benchmark on release day, selling a total of twelve copies. If it weren’t so self-congratulatory, I’d heap congratulations upon myself… nonetheless, it’s a satisfying benchmark to have met, and definitely worthy of this Silicon award.

  15. New CD!

Anticipating Spring is a collection of seven original piano compositions. It has a calm and patient pace, designed to create an atmosphere of peace and serenity. It’s entitled “Anticipating Spring” because the music was recorded in the winter of 2009, a time when I must exercise every ounce of patience I have to endure the discomforts of that season. It is only the hope of spring’s approach that gets me through the dreary, cold days of January and February. This music is full of that hope, and I hope you enjoy it.

  16. Recital Video

In the years when I was seriously studying piano, I gave two solo recitals, one in 1983 and the other in 1984. I’ve located the video from the 1983 recital, and have included it here. It’s fun to go back and see how far I’ve progressed in the ensuing years. I was a scared-to-death performer [...]

  17. Gallery Added

I’ve added a gallery to the site. Right now it’s a bit sparse, but I’ll be putting pictures of myself as I play or am otherwise involved with music. There are certainly a few around, though I don’t have many of them. I’ll be digging around in my archives, as well as asking friends and [...]

  18. Playlists

I’ve added playlists to Sounds.  There are four of them right now: “Favorites,” “Good Stuff,” “Ok Stuff,” and “Not Good Stuff.”  All of these classifications are according to me, of course.  You might think that some of my Ok Stuff is really some of my Good Stuff.  Or you might think that one of my [...]

  19. Welcome!

I’m pleased to announce that my new site is up and ready for everyone to come and hear what I have to say through music. I’ll be adding material and pages to the site in the near future, but I wanted to make the music that’s on it available as soon as possible. [...]
