Irregular Heartbeat

I was playing around with “Heart and Soul” one night recently.  It’s one of the biggest cliche’s in all of piano music.  When I was growing up, learning to play the piano, I can’t tell you how many of my peers came up to me and said “I can play the piano, too!  See?” They’d proceed to play Heart and Soul.  It’s has a very common (and useful) chord progression that’s instantly recognizable.

Of course, to simply play a cliche in a cliche manner is verboten, so I mixed it up metrically.

I love to experiment with non-standard metrics. This piece is mostly in 5/4, with a few other odd, non-standard measures tossed in for good measure (pun intended)
